An awareness seminar entitled “Academic Cheating: The Beginning of the Road to Professional and Social Failure

 

   Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, the esteemed President of Tikrit University, and under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamad Abdullah, Dean of the College of Petroleum Process Engineering, the college, in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, the Psychological Counseling Division at the University Presidency, and the College of Education for Human Sciences, organized an awareness seminar entitled “Academic Cheating: The Beginning of the Road to Professional and Social Failure” on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

This seminar comes as part of the awareness activities organized by the college to promote a culture of academic integrity and to reinforce the values of honesty and scientific ethics among students.

The seminar was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jassam Mohammed Abdullah, a faculty member at the College of Education for Human Sciences, and Lecturer Qutaiba Hameed Mohammed, a faculty member at the College of Petroleum Process Engineering. Both speakers addressed the dangers of academic cheating and its negative impacts on students and society, emphasizing that cheating is not merely an educational violation but rather the beginning of a loss of trust and competence in professional and social life.

The seminar concluded with several interventions and discussions from the attendees, who affirmed the importance of continuous awareness efforts to strengthen ethical values within the university environment and to build a conscious generation characterized by integrity and responsibility in its academic and professional journey.
